ISLAMABAD: National Special Education Centre (NSEC) established an orthopaedic workshop to provide artificial limbs and supportive aids to the physically handicapped students.
Ministry of Capital Administration and Development Division (CADD) took steps for social welfare, special education and rehabilitation of children with disabilities in Islamabad during the last three years and also set up ‘Autism Resource Centre’ for the intellectually disabled.
Official sources on Thursday said the other step was up-gradation of NSEC from higher secondary to graduation level. The sources said computerisation of national braille press for the visually handicapped children was complete, while a National Policy for persons with Disabilities was also formulated.
